A group of 6 students, initially anxious about leaving TST and meeting new people, prepared for a visit to the MVV Waste Plant. They participated in warm-up activities and learned safety protocols. One student faced challenges with PPE but eventually complied and enjoyed the tour. Overcoming fears, they stood on a glass floor above waste hoppers, intrigued by the giant claw sorting waste, which led to discussions about recycling. Although they didn’t see waste being burned, they engaged in quizzes and learned about job opportunities. The visit fostered social interaction and ended positively, with students singing on the return trip. Highlights included fascination with the waste claw and monitoring screens showing lorries emptying waste.
